“Carey”/”Mr. Tambourine Man”

I’m always anxious about overloading your inbox, but…

Although you can’t stream the Amchitka album from the site I referenced, a bit of sleuthing turned up a stream of this, Joni singing "Carey" into Dylan’s "Mr. Tambourine Man" on EW’s site.

This is great, but not quite as good as the more introspective "A Case Of You".  But BE SURE to hang in there until the switch to "Mr. Tambourine Man" and the ultimate arrival of James Taylor.  You’ll be thrilled, you’ll get goosebumps, you’ll want to start singing yourself, at the top of your lungs, with your face in the air.

Meanwhile, I got e-mail from Val Garay telling me that the reason they recut "Carolina In My Mind" and "Something In The Way She Moves" for the JT "Greatest Hits" album was because they couldn’t find the Apple tapes!

Ultimately, the first Apple album was released on CD.  So, did they find the tapes?  Was the real story the one I heard first, that Apple wouldn’t license the tracks for "Greatest Hits"?  I DON’T KNOW!
