Re-Gnarls Barkley
We haven’t had this spirit here since 1995, when Alanis Morissette released "Jagged Little Pill".
We’ve been oppressed for a decade. Victims of corporate behemoths with no social responsibility, only interested in fattening their wallets, not enriching their clientele. As a result, there’s an almost UNFATHOMABLE demand/desire for something great. The public wants to be DELIVERED!
Can you feel it in the air? It’s palpable. The twenty first century has finally begun in the music world. The public is taking over.
How do I know?
By all the references to Websites and MySpace pages I received. My BlackBerry blew up from all the forwarded tracks. The RIAA thinks it can hold progress back. But that progress has already taken place. The people are in control now. They’ve completely changed the way they use music. It doesn’t come on a disc. It’s not a copy-protected track sold for a buck at the iTunes Music Store. Rather, it’s something more fluid, like water, or air.
The powers-that-be think they can own the new sphere with street teams. Pricks add you to their e-mail lists, send you stuff unsolicited, as if listeners have no shit detector.
But we do. When we find something good, it’s human nature to spread the word, and WE DO!
Control is now in the hands of the people. The revolution has begun.
MEANWHILE, check out some of these acts/tracks mentioned below. Stuff like the Republic Of Loose and the Brand New Heavies. Suddenly, music is GOOD again. Not a moment too soon for the believers.
