A week before the show, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll send out personalized MySpace messages to fans of the band that is playing, letting them know to look for us after the show if they like our songs and want some free music. We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll also send out bulletins to our existing fans about the show. We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll give away hundreds of CDs in a night without any effort at all (crazy how many people like free stuff), and we always have people coming up saying they saw our messages on Myspace and thanking us for the free album. Some of them will eventually come out to OUR shows when we play. <\/p>\n<p>We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve given away thousands of our CDs since launching our project last summer, and we hope to give away 10,000 of our new one this year, along with free downloads for every song.\u00c2\u00a0 All for the sake of getting people excited about going to shows and finding new music.<br \/>\u00c2\u00a0<br \/>A label guy recently suggested to us that this approach is a mistake and urged us to remove the downloads from our Myspace page because \u00e2\u20ac\u0153our music is worth more than that\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.
