{"id":722,"date":"2007-03-13T16:56:05","date_gmt":"2007-03-14T00:56:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lefsetz.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/archives\/2007\/03\/13\/722\/"},"modified":"2007-03-13T16:56:29","modified_gmt":"2007-03-14T00:56:29","slug":"722","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lefsetz.com\/wordpress\/2007\/03\/13\/722\/","title":{"rendered":"Album Art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Did you upgrade to the new version of iTunes?\u00c2\u00a0 Version 7.1?<\/p>\n<p>You should.\u00c2\u00a0 To get full screen Cover Flow.<\/p>\n<p>Now I&#8217;ve got a 23&quot; HD monitor.\u00c2\u00a0 But still, I&#8217;ve got to believe these covers look pretty good on your screen.\u00c2\u00a0 And they&#8217;re A LOT BIGGER THAN CD BOOKLETS!<\/p>\n<p>Enough with the laments that the vinyl album experience is dead.\u00c2\u00a0 Wherein you separated seeds from stems while the platter turned, studying the credits as the music played on.<\/p>\n<p>Physical product is dying.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;re not going back to the past.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;re developing a better way to experience the FUTURE!<\/p>\n<p>I can see shit on the covers of these albums that I didn&#8217;t see EVER on the CDs.\u00c2\u00a0 Now, if only they opened up, if only you could turn them over, if only there were an AUTHORIZED BOOKLET\/VERSION!<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what you do.<\/p>\n<blockquote dir=\"ltr\" style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\">\n<p>If you&#8217;re on a Mac, use Software Update, or go to: <a title=\"iTunes 7.1 for Mac\" href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/support\/downloads\/itunes71formac.html\" target=\"_blank\">iTunes 7.1 for Mac<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0and download the new version.<\/p>\n<p>On Windows, go to: <a title=\"iTunes 7.1 for Windows\" href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/support\/downloads\/itunes71forwindows.html\" target=\"_blank\">iTunes 7.1 for Windows<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Now after installing the new version&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 Go to Cover Flow view.<\/p>\n<p>You can do this two ways.<\/p>\n<blockquote dir=\"ltr\" style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\">\n<p>1. Go to the View menu and select it (it&#8217;s the ninth choice down in the Mac version.)<\/p>\n<p>2. In the upper right-hand corner of the iTunes Window there are three little bricks above &quot;View&quot;, just choose the one to the right&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Now you&#8217;re in Cover Flow view.<\/p>\n<p>Now, in the lower right-hand corner of the upper window, the one containing the album covers, click on the little icon that looks like a satellite\/spaceship, just to the right of the slider.\u00c2\u00a0 Now you&#8217;re in FULL SCREEN VIEW!\u00c2\u00a0 The album covers are 8 1\/2&quot; square on my monitor.<\/p>\n<p>And, just in case you don&#8217;t have the covers installed&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 Under the Advanced menu, click on &quot;Get Album Artwork&quot;, the sixth choice down on a Mac.<\/p>\n<p>And to make sure you continue to get artwork when you add tracks, open Preferences and click to &quot;Automatically download missing album artwork&quot; in &quot;General&quot;.\u00c2\u00a0 You&#8217;ve got to have the album title, and it must be correct, but the downloading system works pretty well, and it&#8217;s FREE!<\/p>\n<p>Of course you can add artwork yourself, but if you want to do this, you probably already know how.<\/p>\n<p>iTunes, iPods, they get better.\u00c2\u00a0 And they don&#8217;t beat us constantly against the head with improvements.<\/p>\n<p>If only labels and bands did the same thing.\u00c2\u00a0 Just spoke on the quality of their product.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did you upgrade to the new version of iTunes?\u00c2\u00a0 Version 7.1?
