I was driving from an appointment on Wilshire listening to Sirius.<\/p>\n

I had the Stones on till the roundabout at 26th.\u00c2\u00a0 Then, I shifted to Marky Ramone on Faction.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m working my way down the dial.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s so HARD to learn the Sirius system, since it takes SO LONG for the titles to come up.\u00c2\u00a0 And I’m pushing the buttons, and then I hear this SONG!<\/p>\n

Do you remember rock and roll radio?<\/p>\n

Well, it wasn’t really rock and roll radio.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a melting pot.\u00c2\u00a0 It was Top Forty radio back in the sixties.\u00c2\u00a0 When you had a transistor glued to your ear, when you wouldn’t leave home without it, like your iPod today.<\/p>\n

But not only do they not make that kind of radio today, they don’t make those kinds of RECORDS!\u00c2\u00a0 Shit that you hear ONCE and say WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?\u00c2\u00a0 You need to hear it again and again and AGAIN!<\/p>\n

"Crazy" sounds like a cross between Sly and the Family Stone and the Average White Band.\u00c2\u00a0 You get it IMMEDIATELY!<\/p>\n

I came home and fired up my computer.\u00c2\u00a0 I went on Acquisition to look for the track.\u00c2\u00a0 I went to the act’s Website.\u00c2\u00a0 I needed the record RIGHT NOW!<\/p>\n

This is the way it used to be.<\/p>\n

Oh, let the track play for a while.\u00c2\u00a0 At first it won’t blow your mind.\u00c2\u00a0 But then, as it winds on, you’ll find yourself tapping your toe, moving your upper body to the groove.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s the bass.\u00c2\u00a0 Which is real, not synth, at least as far as I can hear.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s the tonality of the lead singer.\u00c2\u00a0 Like a more controlled Sylvester Stewart in "If You Want Me To Stay".\u00c2\u00a0 It’s the OOHS!<\/p>\n

We used to listen.\u00c2\u00a0 Through the Beatles, the Stones, Herman’s Hermits.\u00c2\u00a0 And then they’d play some Motown track, something out of our purview that would drive us NUTS!<\/p>\n

I’m on 20th Street, not far from my house, and all I can say to myself is THIS IS A HIT!<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the version on MySpace SOUNDS better, but being MySpace, you might have a buffering problem.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
