I&#8217;ll keep you updated as sales come in throughout the week as well.<\/p>\n<p>Mumford &amp; Sons<br \/>&quot;Sigh No More&quot; &#8211; 31,189 +156%<br \/>&quot;Little Lion Man&quot; &#8211; 42,664 +88%<br \/>&quot;The Cave&quot; &#8211; 37,899 +114%<\/p>\n<p>iTunes Stats<br \/>#1 Album on the store<br \/>&quot;LLM&quot; and &quot;The Cave&quot; #1 and #2 Alternative Tracks<br \/>&quot;LLM&quot; #13 track overall<br \/>&quot;The Cave&quot; #15 track overall<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Just checked.\u00c2\u00a0 Mumford&#8217;s album is STILL number one on iTunes.<\/p>\n<p>What does this tell us?<\/p>\n<p>Quality triumphs over spectacle.<\/p>\n<p>And that Top Forty beats is a business, but not the only one.<\/p>\n<p>Real music has returned.\u00c2\u00a0 Played on acoustic instruments.\u00c2\u00a0 You can argue about the songs, the genre, but you can&#8217;t complain about the dancing or the singing to tape or all the stuff music fans have been complaining about for DECADES!<\/p>\n<p>This is the revolution.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re in it.<\/p>\n<p>Forget about genres.\u00c2\u00a0 Just be good.\u00c2\u00a0 Follow your muse.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;re waiting for you.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the big winner of the night, Arcade Fire, is only number 3 on iTunes.\u00c2\u00a0 Winning isn&#8217;t everything, especially on the Grammys.<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"margin-right: 0px;\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\nFrom many:<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/whoisarcadefire.tumblr.com\/<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I figured this was a fake.\u00c2\u00a0 Anything too good to be true on the Internet usually is.\u00c2\u00a0 But I checked Rosie O&#8217;Donnell&#8217;s twitter stream and she said it.<\/p>\n<p>This is all good publicity for Arcade Fire, but know that the Grammy show is now bigger than the acts.\u00c2\u00a0 And that you can enjoy the winning, but the days of Bonnie Raitt becoming a national hero in wake of her victory are done.<\/p>\n<p>Arcade Fire does not make mainstream music.\u00c2\u00a0 The mainstream will not embrace them.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s not a problem.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m just saying their win is a private moment amongst fans.\u00c2\u00a0 A good one, but despite winning on a mainstream telecast, it does not make them mainstream.<\/p>\n<p>Mumford eclipsed Arcade Fire on the show.\u00c2\u00a0 Because they realized on TV it&#8217;s all about being simple and intimate.\u00c2\u00a0 You go broad, with explosions and spectacle, live.\u00c2\u00a0 But not on TV.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Mumford &amp; Sons&#8217; album is $9.99 and Arcade Fire&#8217;s is $7.99.\u00c2\u00a0 When you&#8217;re hot, price is irrelevant.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From: A Little Birdie Sales stats, these include sales until 3amEST.
