On Sunset"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was cruising up 20th Street, pushing the buttons on my XM Commander, and I ended up on Deep Tracks.\u00c2\u00a0 Whatever was on caught my ear, because I stayed there.\u00c2\u00a0 Deep Tracks has got me.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s my musical history.\u00c2\u00a0 I trust it.\u00c2\u00a0 So, when the next record started to play, I didn&#8217;t push the button, but let her rip.<\/p>\n<p>After a couple of days of rain, it was a glorious day.\u00c2\u00a0 And this new song that was playing.\u00c2\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t in my face, it wasn&#8217;t trying to get my attention.\u00c2\u00a0 Rather it was an ACCOMPANIMENT!\u00c2\u00a0 It was a soundtrack.\u00c2\u00a0 It set my mind adrift.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d never heard it before.\u00c2\u00a0 But I recognized the name on the readout, Brian Auger.\u00c2\u00a0 That guy with the album covers with the locomotive, representing his Oblivion Express.\u00c2\u00a0 He had a good rep back in the day, but I never bought any of his albums, because I couldn&#8217;t afford them.\u00c2\u00a0 I couldn&#8217;t afford to experiment with my money.\u00c2\u00a0 What I purchased had to stick.\u00c2\u00a0 So, this was the first time I was hearing this track, &quot;Bumpin&#8217; On Sunset&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Fire up your P2P app.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s not hard to find.\u00c2\u00a0 Download &quot;Bumpin&#8217; On Sunset&quot; and listen.\u00c2\u00a0 It will push that relax button in you.\u00c2\u00a0 The one you sometimes forget you have.\u00c2\u00a0 The one only MUSIC can reach.\u00c2\u00a0 &quot;Bumpin&#8217; On Sunset&quot; goes on for ten minutes.\u00c2\u00a0 An aural excursion.\u00c2\u00a0 Not that I knew how long it was when it started on XM, I was just glad it didn&#8217;t END!\u00c2\u00a0 Because I didn&#8217;t want the mood, the JOY to end.<\/p>\n<p>I reached into the glove box for a pen.\u00c2\u00a0 And then over my shoulder into the backseat for a piece of paper.\u00c2\u00a0 I wanted to write this one down.<\/p>\n<p>And when I got back from my adventures, and I fired up my P2P app, I was surprised to find that Brian Auger didn&#8217;t write &quot;Bumpin&#8217; On Sunset&quot;, rather Wes Montgomery did.<\/p>\n<p>I was a fan of Weather Report.\u00c2\u00a0 And, I bought &quot;Inner Mounting Flame&quot;.\u00c2\u00a0 But really, I&#8217;m not a jazz guy.\u00c2\u00a0 I know Wes Montgomery&#8217;s name, but not his music.\u00c2\u00a0 And it was interesting to hear Wes&#8217; take.\u00c2\u00a0 Still, Brian Auger&#8217;s version wasn&#8217;t just a cover.\u00c2\u00a0 Rather than Wes&#8217; guitar, Brian&#8217;s organ is featured.\u00c2\u00a0 The song has a different feel.\u00c2\u00a0 Silky.\u00c2\u00a0 For all those people who bought &quot;Silk Degrees&quot;
