Jackson Browne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Somehow being productive, not reclusive, like Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne <br \/>has faded to secondary status.\u00c2\u00a0 When really, he&#8217;s primary.<\/p>\n<p>Enough time has passed that there&#8217;s a whole generation of people who&#8217;ve never <br \/>been exposed to his work.\u00c2\u00a0 And are the poorer for it.\u00c2\u00a0 If you&#8217;re looking for <br \/>insight into the human condition, no one is better.\u00c2\u00a0 Joni told her stories, we <br \/>identified with her.\u00c2\u00a0 Whereas Jackson philosophized.\u00c2\u00a0 Not in a detached way, <br \/>but as you listened to his records the concepts revealed themselves.\u00c2\u00a0 And <br \/>maybe that&#8217;s the set-up for my favorite Jackson Browne lyrics of all time, maybe <br \/>my favorite lyrics of all time:<\/p>\n<p><em>Now to see things clear it&#8217;s hard enough I know<br \/>While you&#8217;re waiting for reality to show<br \/>Without dreaming of the perfect love<br \/>And holding it so far above<br \/>That if you stumbled onto someone real, you&#8217;d never know<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I wish all those people searching for love on the Internet could hear these <br \/>words.\u00c2\u00a0 And look inward and realize maybe the question isn&#8217;t finding the right <br \/>person, but finding yourself.\u00c2\u00a0 Opening up to possibilities.\u00c2\u00a0 Knowing that <br \/>fantasies are just that.\u00c2\u00a0 That real people are imperfect.\u00c2\u00a0 But if you find someone <br \/>who tries, who wants to play, you&#8217;ve got someone better than anybody in a <br \/>magazine.<\/p>\n<p>Now this podcast is not a review of Jackson&#8217;s career.\u00c2\u00a0 Unless you consider <br \/>his new album, &quot;Solo Acoustic, Vol. 1&quot;, a career retrospective.\u00c2\u00a0 Which I guess <br \/>it is.\u00c2\u00a0 But, unless you&#8217;re a diehard Jackson Browne fan, you&#8217;ve never heard the <br \/>songs done this way.\u00c2\u00a0 This podcast allows you to hear Jackson&#8217;s classic songs <br \/>stripped down to their essence.\u00c2\u00a0 They&#8217;ll plumb your soul and get inside of <br \/>you to the point where you must buy this CD.<\/p>\n<p>So, purchase &quot;Solo Acoustic, Vol. 1&quot;.\u00c2\u00a0 Or start with &quot;Late For The Sky&quot;.\u00c2\u00a0 My <br \/>favorite album of all time.\u00c2\u00a0 Play it.\u00c2\u00a0 Again.\u00c2\u00a0 And again.\u00c2\u00a0 And experience the <br \/>wisdom unfolding.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;ll take hold of you like a virus.\u00c2\u00a0 No, maybe like love.\u00c2\u00a0 <br \/>It&#8217;ll become a part of you.\u00c2\u00a0 You&#8217;ll find yourself quoting the words, the <br \/>lines will accompany you through life.\u00c2\u00a0 You&#8217;ll be enriched.<\/p>\n<p>Now, if you want to read the lyrics, which were not always included with the <br \/>records, I recommend you visit: <a title=\"The Jackson Browne Fans Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jrp-graphics.com\/jackson_browne.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Jackson Browne Fans Page<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Better yet, just go to: <a title=\"Jackson Browne Discography\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jrp-graphics.com\/jb\/jbalbums.html\" target=\"_blank\">Jackson Browne Discography<\/a>, click <br \/>on the appropriate album and scroll down on the resulting page to find the <br \/>words of the song you&#8217;re looking for.<\/p>\n<p>Not that it&#8217;s solely about the words.\u00c2\u00a0 The music itself is enough, it <br \/>penetrates you.\u00c2\u00a0 The words are just an added bonus.\u00c2\u00a0 Like finding out that woman <br \/>you&#8217;re attracted to is compassionate and understanding underneath the veneer.<\/p>\n<blockquote dir=\"ltr\" style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\">\n<p>You can listen or download the podcast from <a title=\"Podcast\" href=\"http:\/\/rhino.com\/rzine\/rhinocasts\/index.lasso\" target=\"_blank\">Rhino&#8217;s site<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Or you can subscribe in the iTunes Music Store.\u00c2\u00a0 Just search for Rhino, click on &quot;Podcasts&quot;
