It would be too easy to just dismiss this missive…<\/p>\n

But, you and I haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t had a good go in awhile\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 so, let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s go\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

Firstly, I believe in the First Amendment. \u00c2\u00a0My job has never been to tell my artists what to sing and write about. \u00c2\u00a0My job has always been about identifying unique talent with a unique voice and a unique point of view.<\/p>\n

At the Big Machine Label Group we represent artists as diverse as Sheryl Crow singing \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Woman In The White House\u00e2\u20ac\u009d to Aaron Lewis singing \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Am I The Only One\u00e2\u20ac\u009d to Ray Wylie Hubbard to Tim McGraw to Thomas Rhett to Glen Campbell to Nikki Sixx\/Rob Zombie\/John5 (L.A. Rats) to Brantley Gilbert to Justin Moore to Florida Georgia Line to Brett Young to Lady A to Ayron Jones to Callista Clark and many more\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

Aaron Lewis and I have political disagreements. \u00c2\u00a0But there are also things we agree on. \u00c2\u00a0I think that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the foundation for the idea of our country. \u00c2\u00a0It doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t work if we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re so divided that we can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t reach across the aisle, have a conversation or an argument, and ultimately, shake hands. \u00c2\u00a0If we can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t do that, and this moment is so divisive, we may never get our country back.<\/p>\n

To just \u00e2\u20ac\u02dccancel\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 (drop) Aaron is ridiculous and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m disappointed that you would even suggest such a thing. Comparing Aaron Lewis to the Ghetto Boys? \u00c2\u00a0That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a reach and a half\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

You don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have to agree or acknowledge, but Aaron\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s message is speaking to millions of people.<\/p>\n

Let it be a wake up call to reps and dems alike – be loud and be heard!<\/p>\n

It woke you up. \u00c2\u00a0It inspired you to make a statement. \u00c2\u00a0It worked. \u00c2\u00a0And it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s working. \u00c2\u00a0It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s inspiring conversation.<\/p>\n

You have no basis to attack the sales or streaming numbers as your context is not accurate. \u00c2\u00a0Our world is a building world, streaming world, terrestrial radio world, satellite radio world, social\/Insta\/TikTok world\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s everything you can imagine and all verticals must be managed.<\/p>\n

This is just the beginning of this story.<\/p>\n

Example – Nelly\/FGL\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Lil Bit\u00e2\u20ac\u009d came out in the Fall of 2020\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s now on a collision course with 9m US streams per week, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s well past platinum, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Top 15 at Top 40 radio and breaking at Country radio. \u00c2\u00a0There is not always a set path for a hit record. \u00c2\u00a0And this isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t new. \u00c2\u00a0Your aforementioned Geffen Records spent a full year breaking GNR\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Welcome To The Jungle\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. \u00c2\u00a0If you had looked at first week GNR sales numbers and tried to project what that song and that band would have meant to the future of not just rock radio but its impact on culture, you would\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve missed it by a RnR Hall of Fame career.<\/p>\n

Stop when it comes to criticizing first week sales and streams. \u00c2\u00a0You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re only setting yourself up for failure and you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not representing the full story or picture.<\/p>\n

Ironically and culturally, Aaron Lewis and Morgan Wallen have a helluva lot more in common with each other than either of them have with you. \u00c2\u00a0You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re talking out both sides\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

But that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s why we read you.<\/p>\n

You inspire conversation.<\/p>\n
