Felice tells me Hugh Jackman did Broadway.\u00c2\u00a0 But this is the bathroom moment.\u00c2\u00a0 Peter Gabriel can’t sing his nominated song, but Beyonce gets minutes of face time?\u00c2\u00a0 Bullshit.<\/p>\n

Just like when he won his Oscar, he won’t shut up.\u00c2\u00a0 But at least he’s good!\u00c2\u00a0 I used to love Alan Arkin, but he’s become too humble or too…he seems to have lost something.<\/p>\n

But these intro speeches are too lengthy.\u00c2\u00a0 And in most cases, weird and utterly forgettable.<\/p>\n

Great in "Brokeback Mountain".\u00c2\u00a0 As for the "Dark Knight"…how many fucking Batman movies do you want me to see?\u00c2\u00a0 Can’t you come up with something original?<\/p>\n

I saw the Herzog film.\u00c2\u00a0 Fascinating.\u00c2\u00a0 As interesting as the images and the insights into the bottom of the world are, it’s equally fascinating watching Herzog be such an asshole.\u00c2\u00a0 Got to give him credit, he seems completely unaware or doesn’t care how he comes across.\u00c2\u00a0 That’s what we need in new art.\u00c2\u00a0 But I can’t imagine being married to him…<\/p>\n

As for Phillipe Petit.\u00c2\u00a0 He’s got more charisma than so many of these supposed dream-makers parading across the stage.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the crawl told us to hang on until after the ceremony for the local news.\u00c2\u00a0 Nothing is sacred, it’s all about the Benjamins.<\/p>\n

If you’ve ever made a movie you know it’s incredibly boring, except for maybe the director.\u00c2\u00a0 All hurry up and wait.\u00c2\u00a0 That’s what watching this show feels like, the making of an overlong Hollywood "masterpiece".<\/p>\n

As for those saying the minor awards, for shorts and technical shit, should bite the dust…\u00c2\u00a0 How about putting them on cable before the main ceremony?\u00c2\u00a0 How about these nominees creating a Website that would actually draw attention to their work if the design and content were truly riveting?<\/p>\n

The show is winning.\u00c2\u00a0 I’ve turned into an American.\u00c2\u00a0 Made somnambulant by television.\u00c2\u00a0 If it was short and sweet…\u00c2\u00a0 Or better…\u00c2\u00a0 But this is kind of like flipping the channels on a cold, snowy, winter night. You’re not going to go out, so you turn on the TV and can’t turn it off.\u00c2\u00a0 And end up watching shit like this.
They manipulate the final game of the World Series.\u00c2\u00a0 The Oscars are the same show they were forty years ago.\u00c2\u00a0 Is it any wonder the best film of the year was made by Englishmen in a former colony that too many Americans couldn’t pick out on a map?<\/p>\n
